And Out Came the Golden Calf

While the Baylys discuss the second commandment here, here, here, and here, there is a lighter theme over at Palm Tree Pundit as they consider some modern day idolatries like the huggable Jesus and the Jesus Action Figure.

Reminds of the time our two oldest (they were our only children then) were playing with the little people from a “Precious Moments” Christmas decoration that had broken. “Oh, how sweet,” we thought, “they’re playing Mary and Joseph.” That was until we heard them yelling from the other room, “No! No! Bad Jesus.”

“Okay, kids, we’re all done playing with Jesus.”
